We will also have an additional event this month. On Tuesday, November 18th, same location, same time as above. We will host a "Domestic Violence Workplace Prevention Program". The cost to attend this event is $10 for all, members and non-members. That's because, 50% of the proceeds will go to Michigan Asian Indian Family Services (www.maifs.org). October Meeting Recap
It was our 1st birthday and we had a great meeting. Here's what some of the members exclaimed at the conclusion of the meeting:
"One of the best event's I've attended in recent times", exclaimed Arati Patel, CPA and MIICC member.
"What a great group of people", Sonki, a new member of the chamber.
These remarks were from participants who listened to Mary Ann Golin, an expert finance professional. Surab Deb, Arati Patel, and our newest MIICC member, Kalpana Shah all financial professionals in various functions, participated to make the meeting a very interactive meeting.

September Meeting Recap
The theme of the September meeting is "Doing Business with India". Our guest speaker will be Harry Whalen, Manager, of International Business Development for the State of Michigan.
India is one of Harry Whalen's target markets and he will share information related to the mission and vision of the International Business Development Group and their plans for attracting investors from India to Michigan. He will also share with us his experiences from his trip to India this past winter.
The meeting is open to all, members and non-members.
Recap of Wednesday, August 13th Meeting
The meeting on Wednesday, August 13th was one that focused on the body and mind. We had approximately 25 people at the meeting who enjoyed participating in a mini Myers Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) personality test. They also enjoyed a very interactive presentation by Karthik, who is an IT professional but who teaches stress reduction techniques at the Art of Living, Michigan chapter. Participants learned two breathing techniques and enjoyed learning about the benefits of proper breathing to reduce stress.
Of course, Dykema Gossett was a gracious host as always and we enjoyed wonderful finger foods provided by our sponsor India Spice.
Recap of Wednesday, July 9th Meeting
The meeting on Wednesday, July 9th was an exciting one. Our guest speakers were campaign managers from the Obama and McCain campaigns for the michigan region. Shawne Duperon, a five time Emmy award conducted a very lively and energetic networking workshop that got a lot of good feedback.

Jenna Palat, Obama Campaign - Michigan region attended the meeting and provided insight into Senator Obama's campaign and the opening of their new office in Michigan.
Jason Sondhi, McCain Campaign - Deputy regional campaign manager for the Great Lakes States (IN, MI, WI) attended the meeting and provided insight into Senator McCain's campaign. He also shared information regarding the new McCain campaign office that has opened in Michigan. Click here to read more information about his presentation.
Shawne Duperon ran the "Networking for Neanderthals" workshop which included lots of conversations and energetic moving around the room. Participants learned the various networking styles and identified their own style of networking.
